On a recent visit the the V&A museum, and fell in love with the Ballgown, British glamour since 1950 collection. Gareth Pugh's 2011 silvered leather dress as always stood out beyond all others.
Pugh never fails to impress, and
being one of my favourite designers I felt I should show some of his best
designs from recent years.
These are costumes for the Royal
Ballet, ‘Carbon life’.Pugh was never going to stick to the norm, but I did wonder how they could dance in such an outfit. However, having been a dancer once himself, he has some understanding of the matter; "The point shoe may look restrictive, but it's made in such a way the foot can do everything that it needs to do."

snap shot of the fashion film, glamorous but raw, which reminded me of my trip to the natural history museum and this beautiful rock formation.
Gareth Pugh s/s 2012
Gareth Pugh A/W 2013. Amazing as
ever, although there was use of a runway as opposed to his usual video
installation, the overall effect was no less haunting.
The collection true Pugh style is
structurally stunning with sharpe shoulders, high neck lines and a dark colour
pallet. Although in my opinion it does not live up to the standard of his S/S
collection, it is still fantastic.
